Folie Design Development Week 03

After another group meeting/discussion we pulled together the key ideas of each of our concepts. This then became a structure that was representing a journey (maze), evoking the Howard Smith Wharves history the experiences anf emotions of the user, by creating the same feelings of elation, discomfort or complacency as the site experiences though its history. Here is a summary:

The Depression - WAR period, when nothing was constructed - regrowth with post war boom - unsteadyness with identity change - limbo - contemporary HSW and a possible bright future.

With this summary in mind, we began to think of how to transform these events into correlating emotions that the user was to experience, and how the architecture would portray these feelings.

SMALL DARK INSIGNIFICANT DISMAY - a lift from the war, unsure of whats around the corner, no change - elation - UPLIFTING FREEDOM LIGHT HAPPY MOVING FORWARD - UNSTEADY UNSURE LOSS OF IDENTITY - OPTIMISM, BRIGHT SUNNY
